1. What is a speech-language pathologist?

 

A speech-language pathologist (SLP) is a certified professional who provides therapy to individuals to with a variety of communication and swallowing needs. We treat delays, disorders and differences in the following areas: speech, language, voice and resonance, upperairway disorders, swallowing, social communication, and stuttering. We are also trained to evaluate the need for communication devices.

2. Do you take insurance?

​

Communicate Anew LLC is in-network with the following insurance companies:

  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Aetna

 

Services are also available through private pay. 

​

Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check, credit/debit card and HSA. Payment is due at the time services are rendered. Receipts may be requested for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement as an out-of-network service.

3. How much does an evaluation/treatment session cost?

​

Treatment: $125/session*

Evaluation: ranges from $250-$450

*sessions that include speech or language and swallowing treatment are billed as two separate services. The total amount for these sessions is $250.

4. How often will I have therapy?

 

Treatment sessions are typically 1x per week, but may be 2x per week. The frequency will be discussed at the time of your evaluation.

 

The LSVT Loud program is an exception. This program offers 1 evaluation plus 16, 1-hour treatment sessions, which are scheduled 4x per week over 4 weeks.

5. Do you specialize?

​

Elizabeth has a special interest in the areas of stuttering, voice and upper airway, feeding/swallowing, and orofacial myofunctional disorders. Specialized training and education has been acquired in order to offer the following programs and techniques:

  • LSVT LOUD certified

  • Lessac-Madsen Resonant Voice Therapy

  • Casper-Stone Confidential Flow Therapy

  • Gender-Affirming Voice & Communication Therapy

  • Accent Modification

  • PROMPT

  • Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

6. What age group(s) do you work with?

​

Communicate Anew provides therapy to individuals of all ages. 

​

7. What towns do you service?

​

Clients are able to be seen through teletherapy or in-home. In-home therapy is offered to individuals throughout most of Fairfield and New Haven counties. If you are out of the territory for in-home therapy, and you do not wish to be seen via teletherapy, you will be provided with a list of providers in your area.

​

As of August 2022, in-home therapy is offered in the following towns: Newtown, Monroe, Easton, Trumbull, and Milford.

8. Where are services provided?

​

Services are conveniently provided either in the client's home or via teletherapy. 

​

9. What other providers do you recommend?

 

In an effort to ensure clients are provided with the best care possible, Communicate Anew provides a concierge service, free of charge, to help clients locate other professionals. Communicate Anew keeps a referral list that is updated annually and will be provided to clients upon request. The list includes medical professionals, such as neurologists and otolaryngologists (ENTs), as well as other therapists, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists and licensed clinical social workers.
